Mortgage fraud is the act of lying or misleading a mortgage lender on your mortgage loan application in order to get a mortgage loan approval. Examples of mortgage fraud include not disclosing or lying on the mortgage application questionnaire such as stating that you have not filed bankruptcy when you did but just had the bankruptcy derogatory information removed from your credit report, lying about not having a foreclosure but when you actually did and had it removed from credit repair, providing false tax returns, providing false W-2s, providing false pay check stubs, providing or doctoring bank statements, and other acts of fraud to mislead the mortgage lenders of your actual credit and financial status.
