Judgments
#1
Judgments is the worst derogatory item you can have on your credit report. The only way to get rid of judgments is by trying to vacate a judgment through the court system, negotiate or pay off the judgment, or by filing bankruptcy. Judgment creditors have up to ten years of statute of limitations to collect on a judgment debtor plus they can renew their judgment for another ten years. Judgment creditors can place liens on judgment debtors properties and assets, do wage garnishments, and freeze the judgment debtors bank accounts. If a person has multiple judgments, a bankruptcy may be the best solution.
