Don;t close out aged credit card accounts
#1
Many consumers who have overloaded credit card and are overburdened with debt often pay off their credit cards and close them out. Closing out an aged credit card account is the worst thing you can do for your credit profile. Part of your credit scores is derived by credit history and timely payment history as well as available credit. If you have credit cards that you are not using or afraid of using because you are in a debt management program, don't use it and keep the credit card in a safe but do not close them out.
