Can I qualify for a mortgage with credit scores of under 600 FICO?
If you are told that you do not qualify for a mortgage loan because you have low credit scores, that is not correct. I specialize helping mortgage loan borrowers who have credit scores of under 600 FICO. Many banks, credit unions, and mortgage bankers have mortgage lender overlays that set their minimum credit score requirements at 640 FICO credit scores. However, HUD's federal minimum credit score requirement for a 3.5% down payment mortgage loan is a credit score of 580 FICO. Here is an article I wrote about qualifying for a mortgage loan with credit scores under 600 FICO.
