Buying a short sale can be a long stressful process. My recommendation is unless you are absolutely in love with the home or the price is an absolute bargain, stay away from short sales. A short sale is when you are purchasing a home from a seller who is selling their home that they owe more on their mortgage than the value of their home and need the lender's permission to get a discounted payoff from the balance of the original loan.
